We focus on providing each child with a well-rounded, creative and engaging education journey. We believe in creating a learning journey that sparks the imagination, develops higher-order thinking skills. We know that much learning can be great fun, but also appreciate that sometimes it needs commitment and determination to master a skill or concept.
We focus on three core areas: active learning, clear progression and an enriched curriculum. We provide a rigorous curriculum that enables children to develop the critical thinking skills which are so essential currently and for their future.
As well as the direct teaching of concepts through the structured curriculum, it is important that children learn through research and investigations. At Hummingbird you will find well-resourced classrooms and the tools required to spark curiosity and support learning.
This motto expresses the active nature of the learning journey. Our children explore their own abilities and are guided towards developing a growth mindset.
They are encouraged to take on new challenges and supported to be resilient in the face of more challenging tasks. Children explore ideas from the past and present, explore concepts within each curriculum area and learn how to compare sources, rather than simply accepting information; these are important 21st century skills.
