ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

AGE RANGES

Hummingbird admissions follow the UK practice of admitting children according to date of birth. Please see the table below to check your child’s eligible year group.

Nursery                    2.6 – 3.3 years

Kindergarten           3.4 – 4   years

Reception class       4 – 5   years

Year 1                        5 – 6   years

Year 2                        6 – 7   years

Year 3                        7 – 8   years

Year 4                        8 – 9   years

Year 5                        9 – 10 years

Year 6                        10 – 11 years

The child’s age as of 30^th August each year is the cut-off point that determines the eligible year group.

Only in exceptional circumstances will a child be placed out of their age group and the decision of the Headteacher is final.

EARLY YEARS ADMISSIONS

Our youngest children need time to become familiar with their new environment and their new teachers. For this reason, admissions to Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception Class are in small groups, with a maximum of 5 new children joining a class on any one day.
Parents will be notified of your starting day once your admission is confirmed.

4. AUTHORIZED ADULTS FORM

Please record up to two adults who are authorized to collect your child from school. It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure the school is immediately informed in case of changes to authorized adults.
